Preparation of the draft “Action Plan of PCK for 2022” for approval by the Presidium of KazNANS

Elaboration of the draft budget for the activities of PCK for 2022.

Information and explanatory work with the public on the activities of PCK:
— organization of technical tours to enterprises where projects are being implemented in priority research areas that have potential risks in the field of nuclear, chemical, biological, environmental safety (technogenic and natural origin and information security);
— assistance in conducting special lectures at the universities of the country, TV broadcasts and a round table with the participation of PCK members, including a cycle of meetings with BSc and MSc students of universities in the following cities: Nur-Sultan, Almaty, Semey, Turkestan, Ust-Kamenogorsk, etc.

Organization of a seminar on the topic: “Strengthening the biosafety capacity of the RK in order to fulfill the obligations under the Cartagena protocol on biosafety”.

Development of international cooperation in the field of nuclear physics, radiation materials science, radioecology and training at all levels of education, including bachelor's, master's and PhD’s students:
— Start of a new project to develop technology for creating protective shielding glasses and ceramics based on rare earth elements.
— Continuation of work on the modernization of ion source of the DC-60 accelerator in order to obtain more intense beams and highly charged ions to expand its experimental capabilities.
— Studies of the magnetic characteristics of nanostructured materials based on iron oxide and experimental evaluation of the toxicity of nanostructures.
— Study of radiation resistance and structural characteristics of ceramic materials using modern analytical research methods.
— Synthesis of new materials for biomedical applications.
— Training of scientific personnel in the field of nuclear physics, radiation materials science, and radioecology.

Holding an international seminar “30 Years of Scientific and Technical Cooperation in the Field of the Peaceful Atom”, dedicated to the 30th anniversary of RSE NNC RK.

Participation in the Forum of Nuclear Cooperation in Asia (FNCA).

Assistance in the organization of work on the conversion of research nuclear reactors of RSE NNC RK to low-enrichment fuel.

Participation in the Preparatory Commission of the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization (CTBTO).

Assistance in organizing visits of international delegations to the former Semipalatinsk test site.

Assistance in organizing the Kazakhstan exhibition stand at the 66th session of the IAEA General Conference.

Assistance in the work of the Training Center in support of the CTBT on the basis of the Data Center of the Institute of Geophysical Research of NNC RK and in cooperation with the Norwegian Center “Norsar”.

Assistance in organizing and conducting training for Russian-speaking operators of National Data Centers in Almaty with the support of the CTBTO.

Development of mathematical foundations and 3D simulation model of the process of underground bacterial leaching of uranium.

Participation in the development of a scientific and technical program for scientific support and improvement of the activities of the Pugwash movement in Kazakhstan.

Participation of members of PCK and the Youth Department of the Committee in International conferences held under the auspices of the Pugwash Movement of Scientists and other organizations, approval of the topics of reports and the personal composition of Kazakhstani participants in them.

Facilitating the participation of young scientists of Kazakhstan in the 3rd Symposium on Scientific Diplomacy organized by the CTBTO (Vienna) in order to stimulate the development of scientific potential and promote cooperation between scientists and politicians.

Preparation of the participation of PCK delegation in the 63rd International Pugwash Conference “Dialogue, not Confrontation: Nuclear Risks and Conflict Resolution” in Doha (Qatar).

Conducting an online seminar on nuclear safety and nuclear nonproliferation in cooperation with the Pugwash Committee of Great Britain with the participation of members of Youth Departments.

Assistance in the establishment and development of relations of Kazakhstani scientific organizations, higher educational institutions and individual scientists with the Pugwash Movement of Scientists, their participation in the activities of the International Student and Youth Pugwash movement.

Interaction and cooperation with the National Pugwash Groups of the participating countries in the Pugwash Movement of Scientists, including with the Pugwash youth groups of the UK and the Russian Federation.

Assistance in organizing and participating in events of universities and research institutes in the areas of activity of PCK.
