International cooperation
On November 19 - 20, 2018, the regular session of the Committee of Plenipotentiaries Representatives (hereinafter CPR) from the Governments of the Member States of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (hereinafter JINR) was held in Bucharest, Romania. The Plenipotentiary Representative of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the General Director of RSE INP Kenzhin Y.A. and the Director of the Astana branch Zdorovets M.V took part in the session.
The session reviewed the budget of JINR for 2019, the contributions of the JINR Member States for 2020, 2021 and 2022. The session participants reviewed the results of the meeting of the JINR Finance Committee. The following reports were provided at the session:
1) On status of agreements with associated states, preparation of agreements with France and other countries;
2) The main trends, challenges and prospects for development of the information technologies.
The JINR-Romania Scientific Symposium took place on the 20th of November. The participants of the symposium visited the laboratories of the National Research Institute of Physics and Nuclear Engineering “HoriaHulubey” (IFIN HH).
To improve the efficiency of bilateral cooperation between JINR and the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Joint Scientific and Training Center “Dubna” was established, as well as the joint expert commission for review of the competitive bids for scientific and technical projects. In 2018, the expert commission approved 16 projects from 6 organizations of the Republic of Kazakhstan and from 6 laboratories and the JINR Directorate. At present, 103 specialists from Kazakhstan are implementing the research activities at JINR.
