On the 12th February 2022, Student/Young Pugwash (SYP) UK hosted its next online Annual Conference on the theme of ‘Technology & Peace’. The co-hosts were University of Leicester’s Third Nuclear Age project (www.britishpugwash.org).
The online event was attended by members of the PCK and the Youth branch Savelyev S.R., Miniyazov A.Zh., Botov A.A. and Aliyev S.A.
The agenda of the conference covered topics such as emerging/digital technologies in warfare, the politics and future of UK nuclear weapons and managing strategic weapons.
This SYP UK’s Annual Conference is an opportunity for students and younger people to share their ideas and research from a mix of disciplinary backgrounds and meet and exchange views with senior individuals from the worlds of academia, diplomacy and science.
