On behalf of the Pugwash Committee of Kazakhstan and myself, on this solemn day, I express our sincere gratitude for many years of successful, creative, joint work for the benefit of science and our country. Your life path is an example of dedication to your selected field, hard work and relentless movement forward. The ability to work with full dedication and love for your work has earned you respect in the scientific and educational community far beyond the country and help you always achieve goals and significant results. It is difficult to overestimate your contribution to development of higher education system of the country, the reforms offered and implemented by you in positions of Rector of the East Kazakhstan State University, President of the Kazakhstan-American Free University and Minister of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan have brought domestic education to a new, competitive level. On your initiative, the EKSU was created, which quickly gained impact in the implementation of a whole range of innovations: testing, trilingualism, «bachelor-master-PhD», «business science», «business education». The opening of the Kazakh-American Free University is among your merits – this is the first non-state university in the country, which thanks to your hard work currently occupies a high position in national rankings. What truly admires is your ability to pay great attention to personnel training, to conduct scientific activities, and at the same time actively participate in public life as a deputy of the Supreme Soviet of the Republic of Kazakhstan. |
The results of your scientific research and methodological works have been published in more than 750 papers, 20 PhD and doctoral dissertations defended under your supervision – all these are visual indicators of your enormous work.
Numerous honorary titles, including Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Honorary Rector of EKSU, member of the Assembly of People of Kazakhstan and Honorary Professor of several domestic and foreign universities are the result of your dedication, outstanding intelligence and life wisdom.
