The Secretariat of the PCK informs that from September 26 to 27, 2024, anniversary events were held in the city of Ust-Kamenogorsk to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Kazakh-American Free University (KAFU) and the 40th anniversary of the successful career of its founder, academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Mambetkaziev E.A.
The events were attended by leaders of state education and science bodies of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the administration of the East Kazakhstan region and the city of Ust-Kamenogorsk, representatives of associations and universities of the Republic of Kazakhstan, ambassadors of the USA, Slovakia, and Germany, partners and representatives from the Russian Federation, Turkey, Uzbekistan, and other countries, rectors of universities of the East Kazakhstan region, directors of schools, colleges, and other educational organizations of the region, directors of leading enterprises of Ust-Kamenogorsk, and faculty and students of KAFU.
The Pugwash Committee of Kazakhstan was represented by Professor Akhmetov T.Z., Secretary of the Committee and member of the Board of the "NSK" Association, who presented the anniversary honoree with a congratulatory address and gift from the President of the "NSK" Association, Chairman of the Organizational Committee, Professor Shkolnik V.S. He conveyed Professor Shkolnik V.S.'s heartfelt congratulations to KAFU on its important 30th anniversary and wished the University further success and prosperity, emphasizing his high appreciation for the collaboration with the Organizational Committee and the commitment to the ideals of peace and security.
He especially noted that KAFU is a shining example of how educational programs can contribute to global dialogue and mutual understanding by preparing specialists capable of addressing modern challenges.
To the entire university, he wished continued success, prosperity, and new projects, and to the university staff, inexhaustible energy, inspiration, and strong health for achievements in the name of science and education.
