The PCK`s Secretariat informs that from October 9 to October 13, 2023, in pursuance of clause 1.3 of the “PCK Action Plan for 2023” The Institute of Nuclear Physics of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan organized the “International School of High Energy Physics and Accelerator Technology” on the basis of KBTU in Almaty, where students of Kazakh universities listened to lectures by 22 leading scientists and experts in the field of nuclear physics: Kazakhstan, USA, Switzerland, Azerbaijan, Italy and Uzbekistan.
During the work of the school, along with foreign scientists, among the guests of honor were the deputy of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan Argynbekova A.S. and President of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan Zakarya K.D.
The work of the International School was opened by a member of the PCK, General Director of the INP, Doctor of Physics and Mathematics Science Sakhiev Sayabek, noting that “The School is organized at the European Center for Nuclear Research (CERN), the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Institute of Nuclear Physics.
This year the School is being held for the sixth time, which means that it has its own history. The tradition of the School was started in 2010 and the first International School took place at the Eurasian National University L. Gumilyov in Astana”.
The international school has been held for the sixth time, this year 80 young scientists and students from Kazakh National University named after al-Farabi, ENU named after L.N. Gumilyov, KBTU, INP of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan, etc. took part in it.
As part of the school, all participants received a unique opportunity to visit the main base installations of the Institute of Nuclear Physics. This is the only stationary research reactor in Kazakhstan VVR-K, ILU-10 and the Center for Integrated Environmental Research.
As foreign experts noted, this event will undoubtedly serve to strengthen integration ties in the field of science and technology of the CIS member states with CERN, improve the image of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the international scientific and educational spaces, and will also make a significant contribution to the training of highly qualified personnel of the new formation.
At the end of the event, the School participants were awarded certificates in a solemn atmosphere.
