Cycle of online meetings for future nuclear physicists

On June 12-14, with the assistance of the Secretariat of the Pugwash Committee of Kazakhstan (PCK), according to the PCK action plan for 2019, a 3-day cycle of online meetings for future nuclear physicists took place in the Atomic Energy Information Center of Nuclear Society of Kazakhstan.

Students and teachers of the  "International Department of Nuclear Physics, New Materials and Technologies" of ENU after L.N. Gumilyov got acquainted with the activities of the National Nuclear Center of the Republic of Kazakhstan (NNC RK), the Institute of Nuclear Physics of the Republic of Kazakhstan (INP RK) and members of the Pugwash Committee of Kazakhstan. Also, the program of familiarization with international scientific experience included speeches by representatives of  NRTU "MISiS", Physical Institute after Lebedev (Moscow, RF), and the Manipal Institute of Technology (Manipal, India).

The following speakers spoke before the audience, more than 40 students:

  • Miniyazov Arman Zhanarbekovich, NNC RK, member of the PCK, topic of reports "Experience and competencies of the RSE NNC RK in the field of peaceful nuclear technologies", "Reactor materials science";
  • Mukhamedov Nurzhan Erolovich, NNC RK, the topic of the report: "Calculation justification for safe testing at the IGR reactor";
  • Borgekov Daryn Boranbaevich, INP RK, topic of the report “Fundamental and Applied Research in Nuclear Physics at INP RK”;
  • Kozlovsky Artyom Leonidovich, INP RK, topic of the report: “The effect of ionizing radiation on the structural properties and radiation resistance of nitride materials for nuclear energy”;
  • Mityagin Yuri Alekseevich, Institute of Physics after P.N. Lebedev (Moscow, Russian Federation), topic of the report: “Resonant tunneling in semiconductor superlattices and structures from quantum wells”;
