The Secretariat PCK inform that, September 12-14, 2023, the X International Conference “Semipalatinsk Test Site: Legacy and Prospects for Scientific- Technical Development” was held at the National Nuclear Center of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Leading specialists from scientific organizations of Kazakhstan, near and far abroad countries took part in the conference, including members of the Pugwash Committee of Kazakhstan.
The conference program included more than 150 reports on current issues in the development of nuclear energy, controlled thermonuclear fusion technologies, hydrogen energy, radiation ecology and medicine, and reviewed the results of work in support of strengthening the nuclear non-proliferation regime and the CTBT (Comprehensive Nuclear Test Ban Treaty).
