The PCK Secretariat informs: On July 20, 2023, a member of the Pugwash Committee of Kazakhstan, Director of the Scientific and Technical Center for the Safety of Nuclear Technologies, Professor Irina Tazhibayeva took part in an interview with the Nur.kz information portal. Tazhibaeva I.L. shared her expert view on the benefits of developing nuclear energy in Kazakhstan and construction a nuclear power plant. “Today Kazakhstan is a recognized world leader in the production of natural uranium, providing more than 40% of all world supplies. Along with this, we can use our own production of fuel cells at the ULBA TVS plant. The main principle of choosing a supplier of nuclear technologies is a guarantee of ensuring nuclear and radiation safety through the use of proven solutions, the so-called principle of reference.
