The PCK Secretariat informs that on July 14, 2023, at the House of Culture of the Institute of Physics and Energy in Obninsk (RF), at the invitation of the leadership of the Institute of Physics and Energy JSC “SSC RF-IPE named after A.I. Leipunsky”, Professor V.S. Shkolnik - President of the Nuclear Society of Kazakhstan, Chairman of the PCK at KazNANS, took part in the solemn meeting of the scientific and technical council, dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the start-up of the First fast neutron power reactor BN-350 in Shevchenko, which has worked for more than a quarter of a century.

The operating experience of the BN-350 confirmed the correctness of the scientific and technical ideas embedded in it, showed the reliability and safety of power units with fast sodium reactors.
In his speech, Professor V.S. Shkolnik noted the participation of Kazakhstanis who took part in the launch of the BN-350, and also summed up the main results of the STC.
